I don't have a great memory!
It's like my brain ram is pretty much maxed out and there is not a lot of space for my past, for my memories!
However, I remember exceptionally well when my mom used to scream at me in a powerless tone (I was not a calm boy growing up): "You will see what it means to be a parent when you will have kids of your own".
I now know what she meant!
I have no doubts that being a parent is the hardest job. As hard as rewarding.
Often, it all starts with the desire to have a child. Couples brave enough and with a good amount of luck somewhere right now are being blessed with a miracle: a child.
It is a miracle, and I feel so special when I get the opportunity and privilege to document with my photographs a pregnant woman (I should say couple here!)
It is a magical thing I get to do.
Recently I did a maternity photo shoot for a very special person. A person very dear to my heart. A young woman (in my head she will always be a little girl) armed with extraordinary determination decided she was going to be a Mom.
No matter what it would take!
Congratulations to my little sister
"Your path has been rough and it still is but you hang in there until you will soon get to hug your little baby. Then, you will be able to start your new chapter".
So many women face the scariest challenges. Despite so, they understand they are women, and for a woman it's never over.
I think about all this things when I am out on a pregnancy photo shoot and I feel as if my head is a jungle. It's me and everything inside me yelling at me that I am documenting a wonderful woman during her most important period of her life.
Congratulations to all women out there. May the life you are carrying be filled with health, love and joy every step of the way.
